Personal Interests
Beyond coding, here's what I'm passionate about.
Music & Creative
Music is one of my main creative outlets. I play piano, guitar, and bass, and I'm currently learning drums to better understand rhythm and coordination across instruments.
I'm especially drawn to classic rock from the 60s–90s for its storytelling and energy, along with Beatles deep cuts that highlight the evolution of studio experimentation. I also appreciate modern production and melody writing through K-pop.
Lately, I've been focused on building consistent practice routines, experimenting with basic recording and mixing, and using jigsaw puzzles as a quiet, meditative counterbalance.
Athletics & Running
I captained my high school track and cross country teams, where I specialized in the 400-meter hurdles. After high school, I shifted toward distance running as a way to pursue longer-term endurance challenges.
I've completed the Ann Arbor Marathon and am working toward the long-term goal of qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon.
Economics
I'm drawn to economics for its abstract modeling and structured way of reasoning about complex systems, particularly in macroeconomic theory.
I'm especially interested in concepts like the neutral rate of interest and how economies respond to shocks and policy changes. I explored this topic further in an article I wrote for the Michigan Journal of Economics (link).
Alongside theory, I'm actively strengthening my mathematical foundation in probability, statistics, and linear algebra to better support data-driven analysis.
